Honorary President
Mr. Michael Girard
Owner, La Fromagerie Victoria restaurant
Veteran of the Canadian military and businessman in the greater Quebec City area
Honorary President of the 55th Desjardins International Atom U11 Tournament in Lévis
Field hockey is a real passion for me! From the very first time I strapped on skates to this day, the sport has always fascinated me and been part of my life. The competitive aspect, the beauty of sport, teamwork and surpassing oneself are values that are of great interest to me both in a sporting activity and in my professional life.
I started out as a minor field hockey player. A little later, I continued to play for a few seasons during my military service. However, I found my place as a coach on a field hockey team. The simple fact of being able to share my passion and knowledge with the players gives me a sense of accomplishment. As a result, I have a better understanding of the challenges involved in the sport and what it means for a team to prepare for a tournament like the one in Lévis.
Today, I’m a fulfilled businessman. As the owner of several businesses in the greater Quebec City area, notably in the restaurant business with Fromagerie Victoria. The sport is so close to my heart that I continue to be involved both as a partner in sports organizations and events, and sometimes as a spectator.
So it was for the love of the sport that I enthusiastically accepted the honorary presidency of the 55th edition of the Desjardins International Atom U11 Tournament in Lévis.Having the chance to see hundreds of youngsters blossom and excel on the ice is both a great privilege and a pure joy.
We look forward to meeting you!
Enjoy the tournament!
