Michael Girard to serve as Honorary President of the 55th Tournament
The Tournoi International Atome M11 Desjardins de Lévis is proud to announce that Mr. Michael Girard, a well-known businessman in the region and owner of several local businesses including the Fromagerie Victoria restaurant in Lévis, has agreed to assume the honorary presidency of the 55th edition of this eagerly-awaited event. Taking place from January 27 to February 9, 2025, the tournament brings together young field hockey players from near and far, fostering team spirit and sports development.
An honorary president with a passion for field hockey
Mr. Girard is an entrepreneur, but above all he is passionate about field hockey, having played at a recreational level himself. His deep involvement in the sporting world, as well as his commitment to young people, made him a natural choice. Through his business activities, he has always sought to support community initiatives and encourage youth sport.
“I am honoured to participate in this 55th edition of the tournament, which represents a unique opportunity to bring our community together around the passion of field hockey,” said Girard. “I firmly believe that sport plays an essential role in the development of young people, and that this event contributes greatly to this,” he adds.

Since its first edition in 1970, the Desjardins International Atom U11 Tournament has welcomed thousands of teams. Among these teams are Mario Lemieux, Stéphane Richer, Alain Côté, Philippe Boucher, Alex Tanguay, Simon Gagné, Maxime Talbot, David Desharnais, Steven Stamkos, Tyler Seguin and Samuel Blais, all of whom have played on the André-Lacroix and Lévis rinks. Having achieved international tournament status for 20 years, and then national status, the 51st edition of the Desjardins Atom Tournament of Lévis has once again achieved international status. The Tournoi international Desjardins de Lévis generates nearly $1.5 million in economic spinoffs for the city of Lévis.
